Te Puna Hall

Heritage Plantings

The planting at the back of the hall includes several heritage fruit trees, including plums, peaches, hazelnuts, pears, and apples. It is hoped these robust varieties will fruit well and provide fresh fruit for the local community over the warmer months. Also of note – in the gardens around the hall is a Renga Renga lily (Arthropodium) called Te Puna. It is a very attractive small growing selection which was found and named by WBOP district councillor Mark Deans. Further to the above map five Peach Greens Special, six Hazel nuts, and one Pear Speckles were planted in November 2020.
